Car lights have a pretty important role to play. They not only function as headlights to lighten up the roads at night and ensure car safety as parking lights, but also enable the driver see the readings on his speedometer when he is zooming across the city streets. All in all, car lights are indispensable and their utilities immense. Their usage dates back to the time when the cars were just introduced in the market. Over the years, they have undergone transformation in terms of shape and size, but their importance as a car component goes unquestioned. The car lights can basically be grouped into three parts: the fog lights, projector headlights, and tail lights. Fog lights can typically be seen on the front part of the car, and are designed to project extra light on the roads during foggy weather. While some cars have these fog lights as an inbuilt component, some choose to get these lights fitted as auxiliary lights at a later occasion. Today customers are increasingly opting for upgrading their fog lights into either High Intensity Discharge (HID) or projector style lamps. These fog lights come in various colours to suit the car that you own. The projector headlights have a very important role to play. They are solely responsible for illuminating the road at night. Different upgrades for these projector lights are possible which can further enhance the light output of the headlight. Tail lights are the lights that are used to make a driver’s intentions known to the other drivers driving alongside. They are used to make the trailing drivers aware of the driving options that you have. They include reverse light for reversing, brake light for stopping, and signal lights indicating whether a car wants to turn left or right. Different upgrades are available in the market to enhance the performance of these tail lights as well. After carrying out an exhaustive research on car headlights, one would come to the conclusion that it is the Xenon standard lamps that have outsmarted any version of the halogen headlamps. While the light output is almost 200% more than the halogen lights, their life-span too is estimated to be as much as ten times that of halogen bulbs. Greater light output means greater visibility and thus lesser chance of road accidents. These lights are so powerful that the rays that they emit pierce through the poor weather condition and provide maximum visibility to the driver. To add the never ending list of advantages, these lights use up 50% less energy thereby easing off the demands on the car battery. They are generally available in D4S/D4R, D3S/D34R, D2S/D2R, and D1S/D1R. Another headlight technology that is creating ripples in the market today is the Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology. For all those car enthusiasts out there this LED light is just what you always looked for. They were initially used in tail lights but have recently been developed into headlights. LED lights have a unique advantage that makes it the best choice for under body lighting and that is that they can easily be bent and hence they can be used as a door-handle light or even as wheel well light. Most importantly LED’s are available in plenty of colours to give your car that seductive look you always wanted. They are cost-effective and consume much less power than ordinary lights. These LED lights are relatively easier to install and they come with detailed installation manual to help the customers mount these lights on their car themselves. Thus we can conclude that a variety of car lights are available in the market with newest technology to make driving a memorable experience for you. |
